Current Home: Brandon, MB With Konektis: 2021 - Present Vocal Part: Alto 1 Age: 39 Occupation: Elementary Music Educator Musical Background: Music has been a foundational aspect of Laurel's entire life! She has sung in a wide variety of choirs, musicals, conducted school and church choirs, completed Grade 9 RCM Piano, plays ukulele, flute, and percussion in band. Most recently, she has completed her Orff Level 1 and 2 courses at U of M. Favourite Music: A wide variety of interesting and fun music. Folk-inspired, and choral music are at the top of the list! Hobbies: Camping and exploring new places with family and friends, watercolour painting, walking and running with her 3 kiddos and Cockapoo pup, and making music! Fun Fact: Laurel ran a home-based Music For Young Children studio for five years when her own children were younger and at home. Laurel is a kindergarten-grade 6 music educator in Brandon School Division. She attended Canadian Mennonite University, and completed a Bachelor of Education at Brandon University in 2010. She has a variety of class room music and choir teaching experience spanning over fifteen years in Brandon elementary schools. Laurel seeks to discover beauty and build community wherever she is. She is thankful that singing with Konektis Choir fills her life with more beauty and community. |
